
On Thursday, 4th June, 2026, the Management of the University of Media, Arts and Communication (UniMAC) paid a courtesy call on the Embassy of the Russian Federation in Ghana to strengthen academic, cultural media and language cooperation.
The UniMAC delegation was led by the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Eric Opoku Mensah, and included the Pro Vice-Chancellor, Professor Winston Kwame Abroampa, the Acting Registrar, Dr. Obaapanin Oforiwaa Adu and the Acting Unit Head of the Office of the Pro Vice-Chancellor, Mr. Isaac Dadzie.
The delegation was received by His Excellency Andrei Eduardovich Ordash, Ambassador Designate of the Russian Federation to Ghana and Her Excellency Mrs. Natalia Muzhennikova, Counsellor at the Embassy.
The Pro Vice-Chancellor formally introduced the UniMAC delegation, after which the Vice -Chancellor explained that the visit was intended to deepen the growing relationship between UniMAC and the Embassy.
Professor Opoku Mensah noted that the partnership had already supported a number of initiatives, including discussions toward a Memorandum of Understanding with Sputnik Russia, the First Russian Film Festival, Russian Language Day and other engagements in media, culture and education. He further expressed UniMAC’s interest in expanding Russian language studies through the Institute of Languages.

In his remarks, His Excellency Andrei Eduardovich Ordash expressed delight at receiving the UniMAC Management. He noted that UniMAC was the first university he had formally engaged since his appointment as Ambassador Designate and welcomed future collaboration in education, culture, media, language and people to people relations.
The Vice-Chancellor also commended Her Excellency Mrs. Natalia Muzhennikova for her continuous support toward the UniMAC and Embassy partnership. Mrs. Muzhennikova thanked the UniMAC delegation and highlighted proposed areas of collaboration, including links with GITIS in Russia, support from Kuban University, collaboration with BRICS TV, participation in educational forums in Russia and scholarship and training opportunities for UniMAC students.
Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to building a practical and sustainable partnership that would benefit students, staff and institutions in Ghana and Russia.
