Tuesday 8th September, 2026, the Immediate Past Executives and the Current Executive Leadership of the Ghana Association of University Administrators (GAUA), UniMAC Local Chapter, held an official engagement with University Management in the Vice-Chancellors Conference room.
The meeting, attended by the Vice-Chancellor, Pro-Vice-Chancellor, Director of Finance and the Acting Registrar, provided an opportunity for the Immediate Past Executives of GAUA to formally introduce the Current Executives to Management.
Introducing the Executives gathered, the Immediate Past President of UniMAC-GAUA, Mr. Andy Adu-Sarbeng, accompanied by his Secretary, Mr. Lloyd Annor-Larbi, formally introduced the Current Executives to University Management as the President – Mr. Kow Payin Nketsia – Richardson, Vice-President – Ing. John Kwesi Dzegle, Secretary -Ms. Marian Mantey, Treasurer -Mr. Godfred Osei Arko and Organizer – Mrs. Abena Benewaa Fosuhene.
Mr. Adu-Sarbeng further went on to express gratitude to the Executive Management of UniMAC for their support for his leadership team during his tenure.

Commitment to Collaboration and Constructive Engagement
Following the exchange of pleasantries, the President of UniMAC-GAUA, Mr. Kow Payin Nketsia – Richardson, assured Management of the GAUA’s Executives commitment to maintaining a cordial, respectful and productive relationship with the University Administration. He emphasised the importance of consultation, constructive dialogue and mutual understanding in addressing issues affecting members and the University, especially the non -teaching/professional group.
Management’s Response and Guidance
The Vice-Chancellor of UniMAC, Prof. Eric Opoku Mensah, commended the Immediate Past Executives for their service and warmly welcomed the Current Executives. He affirmed Management’s commitment to maintaining a strong and positive partnership with GAUA.
He went further to indicate the strong legs of the university community – the teaching and non-teaching/professional staff – to work in tandem for successful university operations. With GAUA representing Senior Members non-teaching/professional staff, the Vice-Chancellor encouraged the Current Executives to adopt a proactive approach to engagement, including seeking early clarification and consulting appropriately on key issues before decisions are finalised.
The Vice-Chancellor also reaffirmed his open-door policy, encouraging the GAUA Executives to engage Management whenever necessary. He further expressed his readiness to support initiatives aimed at the continuous education, professional development and advocacy of GAUA members.
Message to GAUA Members
The Current Executives of UniMAC GAUA remain committed to effective representation, constructive engagement and the protection of the legitimate interests of all GAUA members both at the local and the national level.
We look forward to working collaboratively with Management while ensuring that the concerns and welfare of members remain firmly on the agenda. Together, through unity, dialogue and purposeful engagement, we shall continue to advance the interests of GAUA and contribute to the growth and development of UniMAC.
