UniMAC’s UTAG Executives Pay Courtesy Visit on the Pro Vice-Chancellor

On Monday, 3rd February 2025, executives of the University Teachers Association of Ghana (UTAG) at the University of Media, Arts, and Communication (UniMAC) paid a courtesy visit to the newly appointed Pro Vice-Chancellor of UniMAC, Professor Winston  Kwame Abroampa.

The delegation was made up of the UTAG Vice-President – Mr. Yao Ladzekpo; UTAG Secretary – Madam Adjoa Akos-Ewusi; and the UTAG – Institute of Journalsim’s Vice-President, Dr. Noel Nutsugah. The visit was to formally congratulate Prof. Abroampa on his new role as Pro Vice-Chancellor and to welcome him officially to the fraternity of UniMAC. It was also to strengthen the working relationship between UTAG and the UniMAC administration and discuss key academic and faculty-related matters.

During the visit, the executives emphasised the importance of collaboration between faculty and administration to enhance academic excellence, improve teaching conditions as well as students and faculty academic welfare.

Prof. Abroampa expressed his appreciation for their visit and praised faculty for the warm reception and cooperation he has received since his assumption of duty. He echoed his commitment to creating a productive and inclusive academic environment in UniMAC for all to thrive, and also to enable the university take its pride of place in the media and communication education space for competitive advantage.

UniMAC is on a trajectory of change, re-shaping professional media, arts and communication education in Ghana. This engagement between UTAG and the Pro. Vice-Chancellor marks a significant step toward building a strong relationship between UTAG and the UniMAC leadership.
