I welcome you to the Centre for International Relations (CIR) of UniMAC. Our primary objective is to establish quality teaching and learning relations with our international students and partners through sustainable collaborations with international universities, academics, industry professionals, and entrepreneurs. Together, we aim to foster the holistic development of the University.

The Centre works in tandem with the Vice-Chancellor and the Rectors of the constituent institutes of the University to oversee the operations of all international alliances and initiatives. It collaborates with Faculties and Departments to support global initiatives and work with organisations for international education programmes and activities. Also, the centre seeks to collaborate with Quality Assurance Unit, Department of Research, Innovation, and Development (DRID), Finance, Audit, and Compliance, and the Counseling Office to ensure adherence to international quality standards and ethical practices.

At UniMAC, we value the presence of international students and partners, and we recognise their important role in enhancing the quality of teaching and learning at the University. Our doors are widely open to welcoming new international students, new partners and visitors from all parts of the world. The Centre provides a sense of community for the international populace and our staff are committed to providing quality support services to our international students and partners.

The Centre is looking forward to developing non-curricular programme opportunities to offer students. Programmes such as UniMAC International Week, UniMAC Creative Cave and SDG’s Programmes to foster meaningful and productive engagement.

The Centre aims to expand the international experience on the University Campuses by providing one stop-shop services to all international students, partners and visitors needs. The services are:

Before Arrival in Ghana

  • Correspondence (respond within 24 hours)
  • Enrolment
  • Visa Procedures and Immigration issues (letter of invitation/Introduction, admission letter)
  • Accommodation placement

After Your Arrival in Ghana

  • Airport meet and greet.
  • Arrival Orientation Programmes and events
  • Guidance on student, visitor permits and registration processes

INTERNATIONAL ADMISSIONS APPLICATION PROCESS

UniMAC which is located in a prime area in the city center of Accra, Ghana, provides welcoming conducive educational and safe environment to international students who would like to have global experiences with promised job prospects through our professional degree and masters’ programmes.
International applicants who intend to enrol in a full or part-time programmes should go through the following simple steps to complete the application form.

Step 1. Submit Required Documents

  1. Submit original copies of transcripts/certificates to the Ghana Tertiary Education Commission (GTEC), gtec.edu.gh for certificate evaluation and eligibility for admission to UniMAC. Applicants should indicate “UniMAC” on their application form for the Verification.
  2. After submission, notify Centre for International Relations-UniMAC via email(irelations@unimac.edu.gh or perpetua.opoku-agyemang@gij.edu.gh).
  3. After completion of the process, GTEC will forward copies of its decision to UniMAC and to the applicant for the necessary action. The International Relations Office will notify the applicant of GTEC’s decision on the documents submitted.
  4. Please note that Transcripts in languages other than English will have to be translated before submission of documents to GTEC.
  5. Please note that it takes about 2 to 6 months for the certificate evaluation.

Step 2: Pay your application fee

 A non-refundable application processing fee of $100 for undergraduates and $150 for post-graduate must be paid directly to our foreign account before you can get access to the online application forms.  The Bank will provide the applicant with a serial number and a pin to obtain access to the online admission portal. Please do not hesitate to contact Academic Affairs (academics@unimac.edu.gh) or Centre for International Relations ( irelations @unimac.edu.gh if you do not get your pin.

Step 3. Complete the Online UniMAC-Application form

   Applicants have to fill in their online application form and upload all documents by clicking on the  link. https://admissions.unimac.edu.gh/

Step 4: Offer of Admissions

After receiving complete documents and all other requirements fulfilled, a letter of admission will be issued for payment of fees and student visa application.  You are then required to go to the nearest Ghana Embassy in your home country to obtain a Student Visa. 

Step 5: Pay your Programme Fee

Applicants are advised to pay the full Semester fee to complete the admission process. The Account details are as follows:

Step 6: Reporting to Campus

On arrival, students have to submit their original documents to Academic Affairs to confirm admission
